Ion's Cafe

Besides having a great name, this cafe enjoys a fantastic location at the foot of the bridge to Roosevelt Island (Vernon and 36th Ave.), and I enjoyed a very reasonably priced tripe soup along with some coffee there the other day in the middle of a mad dash.
Though Teaching the Tell is growing quickly, we are not currently interested in undertaking a blog devoted solely to restaurant reviews. Instead, here, reviews will be posted with no regularity and with lesser in the way of an "objective" system.
The menu is included for your perusal, along with a sneak peak of the joint just before it first opened its doors for business.
Bottom line- great tasty home made food, friendly service, great prices, and a cool projector that adds some ambiance without turning the place into some avant-garde hole.
Next time I return, it will be with a posse and a much larger appetite!
